    Revised Uniform Complaint Procedures


    As a result of a new state regulation, Board Policy 1312.3 - Uniform Complaint Procedures (UCP) was revised.  The LBUSD Board of Education approved the revision on February 5, 2020. If you are interested in reviewing the revised policy, it is posted on the district website. In addition, the associated UCP Annual Notice for 2019-20 was revised and is attached. It is also available at this link:

    A hard copy of the annual notice is available at any school site or District office in both English and Spanish.

    Se revisó el Procedimiento Uniforme de Quejas (UCP, según sus siglas en inglés) como resultado de un nuevo reglamento estatal, Política de la Junta de Educación 1312.3. La Junta de Educación de LBUSD aprobó la revisión el 5 de febrero, 2020. Si a usted le interesa repasar la política modificada, está publicada en la página de internet del Distrito.     Health clinics. Fire departments. Schools. Even roads and highways. The census can shape many aspects of our community.  The census results help determine how:

    • billions of dollars in federal funding flow into states and communities each year
    • the amount of seats in Congress each state gets

    Please visit the link below to complete the census on-line or to get additional information. Paper census are also available. Remember, no personal information such as citizenship status and social security numbers are asked nor required.

    LBUSD Head Start and Early Head Start provides free part-day and full-day high-quality center-based care and education for children birth to five.  Additionally, home-based services are provided for pregnant women and families with children birth to three.  We embrace the provision of services through a multi-generational approach that builds on the premise that parents are their children’s first and most important teacher.  The comprehensive services provided include: family engagement, leadership and advocacy training; child growth development- school readiness, health , nutrition, mental health and early intervention services.  Priority is given to families who meet income eligibility guidelines, have foster children, are experiencing homelessness or inadequate housing, have a child with a disability or are facing other circumstances that warrant the need for early childhood care and education services. There are 23 locations across the cities of Long Beach and Signal Hill.  The centers are located on Long Beach Unified School District schools as well as five other community locations. The program provides families assistance in the process of potty training, thus, children do not need to be potty trained.
